Musical Theater Program

This year the ACMPTA will be organizing a Spring Musical Theater Course and Performance!

DETAILS

(Commitment and payment is required by Monday, December 16, 2019.)


Course Dates & Times: 9 Fridays and 1 Tuesday, with times varying as follows:

3:45 - 6:45 PM: 1/10, 1/24, 2/28, 3/13, 3/24 (Tuesday, dress rehearsal)

3:45 – 5:15 PM: 1/17, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 3/20

Performance Date & Time: Thursday, March 26, time still TBD

Who Can Participate: 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders

Requirements: Must be able to abide by the participation agreement below.

Fee (non-refundable)*: $160 per person

Spots Available: 20-35 - In order for this activity to take place, at least 20 students will need to participate.


Auditions/Casting:

Every child who signs up will receive a role in the performance. During the first two sessions the director will conduct “auditions” and assign parts to every participant. Great teamwork will be modeled by each child doing their best in the role in which they are cast.


*Fee is non-refundable, but based on 20 participants and inclusive of black jazz shoes. If more than 20 students sign up, the fee will be reduced and parents will receive a refund. If your child has black jazz shoes they can use or donate for one of the other students to use, the fee can be adjusted. Please let us know if this is the case.


PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

By registering your child, you and your child agree to this participation agreement.

  1. Your student agrees to perform in the part in which they are cast.

  2. The student may only miss 2 rehearsals before being re-cast.

  3. Black Jazz shoes will be required to participate and will be part of the registration fee. If your child has black jazz shoes already, please let us know so we can adjust our order and your fee.

  4. All scripts MUST be returned to ACMPTA in good condition, clean and with no visible damage. Students who do not return their scripts will incur a $40 charge to cover the fee ACMPTA will be charged by the performance-licensing provider.

  5. Rehearsals should not be interrupted. If you need to speak with the director, please wait until the end of class or send an email to heather.selig@2003.usna.com.

  6. Appropriate apparel is required at all times. This includes comfortable clothes children are able to move around in and their jazz shoes.

  7. Students are to bring quiet activities, such as books, etc. to keep themselves occupied when it is not their turn to rehearse, as they need to be respectful of their fellow performers.

  8. Please have your child bring a snack. There will be a time for snack, but snacks will not be provided.

  9. Students are expected to remain inside of rehearsal rooms at ALL times.

  10. All production staff, personnel, volunteers, fellow cast and crew members will be treated respectfully at all times.

  11. Cast will be expected to help paint scenery, and parents will be relied upon to produce their child’s costumes for the final production.
